It
was on a Sunday afternoon when UkGambians met up with Saul Sowe the man
behind the brand, Saul Sounds Joluv Arts. UkGambians met up with Saul in
his impeccably clean crib in Beckton, London to talk about his latest
event, the Miss Senegambia UK and the brand new Joluv night club to be
opened in Stratford London. Manchester United were 3 nil up against
Birmingham, so it was a little difficult to take
concentration from the
TV which was showing the game when I arrived, it was a struggle but Miss Senegambia won…
Promoter
Saul Sowe, who
stood tall and slim, his distinctive features smiling a greeting as I
arrived, is regarded as one of the top DJs and promoters in Gambian
community in london with an impressive track record, he is the guy who
gave London debuts to mbalax superstars such as Mbye Nder, Lemzo Jamano,
Jaliba Kuyateh, Assane Mboob and Titi. Saul Sounds Joluv Arts did not
only concentrate on entertaining the Senegambia audience in London, he
has also brought the likes of Assane Ndiaye 2001, Mbye Nder, Kine Lam,
Lemzo Jamano, Fallow Dieng and others to perform in successful shows in
Gambia.
UkGambians.com
One of the first
questions I was eager to ask Saul was what his thoughts behind the
creation of UkGambians.com, being established as a virtual networking
place for Gambians are. I must admit it was pleasing to hear his
positive remarks such as it was long overdue for the Gambian community
to have something like this in place, he also expressed his gratitude
towards all the UkGambians team who made this site a reality.
Miss SeneGambia UK
Not a bad start
to this very casual interview, and we smoothly moved over to the Miss
Senegambia competition. Saul expressed his gratitude to every single
individual who helped in making this event a very successful one. After
some troubled times between these two nations (Gambia & Senegal) Saul
felt the need to create a sense of togetherness and he knows no better
way than entertaining both nations together during the 41st
anniversary of Gambian Independence. What was most pleasing for Saul
Sowe, he said, was seeing SeneGambia coming together to create a great
show with the presence of Mr Kasse, the Senegalese deputy ambassador and
Gambia’s Jibril Joof, the high commissioner who was instrumental through
out the whole planning process, so many thanks to him. It was also
confirmed that this will be a continuous yearly event and UkGambians are
certainly looking forward to the next one.
Club 19
UkGambians was
eager to know what Saul sounds had plan for us this summer. It was
revealed Saul Sowe is parting company with Club 19. The thought of being
able to run his own club was just too hard to resist. He believes total
management control will enable him to provide the best possible opening
nights (Saturdays) times that suits the SeneGambian audience. He is
eagerly waiting for the much anticipated launching of Joluv Night Club,
a brand new club for all Mbalax lovers in the heart of East London.
Brand New!! Joluv
Night Club!
After
more than a decade in the entertainment industry, Saul Sounds Joluv Arts
say it is proud to present Joluv Night Club. The launch will be held on
Bank Holiday Sunday 30 April, 2006 at Joluv Night Club formerly
known as E.Q. located at Waterdeen Road, Stratford, E15. Saul
Sounds is urging all the SeneGambians to come and support this brand new
Joluv Night Club. Saul Sounds Joluv Arts has always been associated with
good music and ambiance, he said, and we are certainly not going to
disappoint this time either. Joluv Night Club is newly refurbished with
pool tables and VIP area. Snacks will also be available.
Ansu Manneh
As he
was finishing the last sentence, one of his best friends and allies, Mr
Ansu Manneh came into the living room where the interview was being
held. Ukgambians managed to ask him some questions about this new
venture.
Ansu is assuring the
Senegambian audience that the music to be played at this night club will
be of a high standard. Saul Sounds Joluv Arts has gathered a group of
young talented Gambians to work with him. Ansu also emphasised the
importance ofCustomer orientation, providing what the Senegambian public
wanted, flexible opening days and hours, not to forget a great location.
Stratford is ideal for most Senegambians, it is easy access and
convenient for most Senegambians. Limited membership for regular club
goers is available. For further information about membership please

good venture; it will help bring the whole SeneGambian community

the location of Joluv night club will make it stand out. It is
convenient and easy access for most of us. I am very happy for Saul and
wish him the best of luck”- Tamsir Jenkins.
