The former Gambia leader made the statement when members of African Media Malari a Research Network (AMMRENT) paid a courtesy call on him at his residence in Fajara.

Sir Dauda urged journalists to redouble their effort on reporting on malaria and other health issues saying: "Your role is important as information is vital in t he fight against malaria especially in the rural areas were information is a pro b lem to reach the people."
