Deep
from the midst of doom and gloom bounces back Senegambian Showbiz. As manifested
in recent events by YaramArts&Clubsenegambia, Saulsounds-JoluvArts and Waka j
Promotions. One might say, I’m a bit over optimistic but Senegambian showbiz in
the UK seems to be heading back to its days of glory and maybe even stronger.
For every dark cloud there is a blinging
shining silver lining, and so it showed on Saturday 12th June at the
Waka J and First Entertainment ALL WHITE V.I.P PARTY @ Club
Anatolia. It’s definitely been quiet some seconds since the last time we’ve been
to a ball so swanky. It was absolutely a night of pure ecstasy, the classy venue
was inundated with party-people dressed to Kill and thrill in style with the
V.I.P All White Party Theme. The vibe was bang on point, moves and grooves,
hugs, kisses and smiles, LOL and OMGs, somebody even poked me, and said "hey!, I
think I know you from somewhere…" I said me too pretty Face, I read your Book.
The highly flammable Senegalese Super
star Salaam, (comic /artist) main act of the night set the venue ablaze
the moment he stepped on the stage spitting his trademark explicit lyrics. The
crowd went delirious, ladies especially, screaming and dropping sexy moves all
over the dance floor.
The attendance showed how strong a community we are indeed. All the top Uk-based
Senegambian music promoters were in the mix, Njok malik ( Yaram Arts ) dressed
in a silk looking white blazer and blue jeans, SaulSounds (Joluv Arts) in a
white African style “Mbasenge” with gold embroidery. And of cause the host
promoter himself in a customised designer white Waka J shirt with white jeans
alongside up coming Gambian Music promoter Bakz-Saho Da ‘music Mogul in some
cool white outfit too.
Also in the house was Sweden-based star promoter Bio Njie (Grand Bal / Nice Mag)
promoting the latest issue of Nicemag coming out soon. And a long list of
Stars and DJs, including Boy Kaire Senegalese Champion wrestler, Saul Frazer
(Global properties), Dj King L.K.J, Dj Hassim(Pim-Pim Sound) plus Mix Master
Alieu B, who was on the decks and his laptop whole night squeezing the very last
drops of juice out of his Hercules Virtual Dj Cutting-edge DJ controller,
dropping huge club bangers in clear cut, clean seamless mixing style.
The night was full of fun indeed and this was evident
when it all had to end at 4am. People didn't want to go home,
some even tried squatting, resulting in bouncers bellowing " make your way to
the doors please" more than a dozen times X 10.
I sincerely hope and pray that the blast and the spirit we had on that night
will last forever and ever, making Senegambian Showbiz in the UK, the best thing
since “Penda-Mbaye”.
Well done Waka.
